Player Profile:-

At the age of eight, Barry Worth started playing the cornet with Berisfords youth band. He, along with Nic Bracegirdle, joined Bollington Band at the age of 15 as one of the original six founder members.
He played with Bollington for ten years and during this period moved to the depths of the Bass section. Aged 25, the young dairy farmer from Marton, moved closer to home and joined the very successful Beridfords Cardway Cartons Band in Congleton. Following the demise of Berisfords Band, Congleton Brass was formed and Barry continued his banding career in Congleton. He decided for a change of scenery and took a trip to Crewe, joining the Crewe Co-op Band before returning to the village of Marton as a founder member of Silk Brass in 1997. Barry is the only 'local' player, living and working his dairy farm just a few hundred yards down the road from the bandroom. His farm has been the centre of many a fine party for the band over the years, where he has frequently introduced the players to a fine.....er......"cough mixture" that he produces.
