Although he may have limited experience with other brass bands, he is one of the more powerful and influential players in the band.</div> <div> When he joined Silk Brass, he played 2nd Euph, and then went on to play, 2nd Baritone, Solo Baritone, Second Trombone, Percussion and Bass Trombone. Being a universal player, he still assists on the percussion section when necessary.</div> <div> During his time with Silk Brass, he has had the pleasure of winning the 3rd Section National Championships in 2002 as well as appearing in the massed brass band for the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in the same year. </div> <div> As Scooby himself states, he is one of the "characters" of the band! Absolutly true, and more often than not the centre of the party. He also works behind the scenes with the sales of band goods at concerts etc. with Simon Kirk.</div> <bR> <div> <B>Personal comments:-</B></div> <bR> <div> <I>"This is always the hardest thing to write. What can I really say about myself?</I></div> <div> <I>People describe me as one of the “characters” of the band, which is probably why I have been given the nickname of “Scooby”. There are probably many other reasons why they gave me that nickname, but I think I will leave that to your imagination.</I></div> <div> <I>Other than the band my other hobby is Musicals, either going to watch them or performing in them with a local Amateur Dramatics group."</I></div> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
