Player Profile:-

Sue's brass banding life began somewhat tentatively on the cornet at school with her instrument on her knee for the first 2 weeks without playing a note!  She then moved onto Tenor Horn because her tutor suggested she needed to play on a larger mouthpiece due to the fact that she was playing flute as well (presumably not at the same time!)

Whilst at college, she played Solo Horn and following the folding of Congleton Brass, she joined a full Silk Brass on tuned percussion (This being the only vacancy). Although she knew nothing about percussion at the time, she could read Bass Clef and knew her way round a keyboard.

Sue eventually moved on to Solo Baritone a couple of years ago when the seat became available, as desperately wanted to blow again.

Her other musical fortes' include: Piano, Flute, Violin, Mando Cello, Melodian, tuned percussion. She also holds a BA Hons in Band Studies under the tuition of Richard Evans, Sir Arthur Butterworth & Daryl Barry.
