Beginning his career with Berisfords and remaining loyal for nearly thirty years right through to the bitter end. Maybe he was just waiting for the day in the 1990s' for Claire, (our <A HREF="id37.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Flugal Horn"><U>Flugal player</U></A>) to join him on the front row!! In the time he spent with Berisfords, he's played at the Nationals twice  - winning once. As Berisfords Band progressed, Alan participated in the Belle View Contests and won three contests in three years. </div> <bR> <div> Alan has also been to Austria five times with Berisfords and Silk, and the last time proudly suggests he was awarded the 'Freedom of the city of Lermoos'  - <I>"Well they gave me a badge anyway."</I> says Alan!</div> <bR> <div> <B>Personal comments:-</B></div> <div> <I>"The most wonderful thing about my playing career is that's how I met my marvelous wife Claire - Silk's flugel player and we've been married now for 15 glorious years."</I> (P.S.
