Personal comments:-
"Banding is in my blood. My first experience of banding was going with my Dad to concerts and contests were he played principal cornet for the Co-Op band Crewe. I can still remember the pieces they played:- The Shipbuilders, The Plantagenet's, The Frogs, Peer Gynt. Brilliant inspiring music, somewhat different to some of the "clever" modern test pieces we enjoy so much
He gave me my first lessons and introduced me to the obsession of banding, thanks Dad !. (also has my first half of Shandy - Buxton contest 1977 - all down hill since then)."
