Silk have just finished yet another busy festive season that included formal concerts at Atherton, Bolton; Bosley Church; Daneside Thetare Congleton; United Reform Church, Macclesfield; carols at Davenport Arms, Whitely, Wolstanton, Macclesfiled..........................
"As we head into another busy Christmas period with Silk Brass it's a good time to reflect. We have been very privileged to play in the Championship section this year and I think we have played exceedingly well at all the contests we have entered. The band has had a very busy concert schedule this year, all being well attended by our audiences. Thanks must go to.................................

Sunday 20th November the band played to a packed audience at Formby Hall, Atherton, Bolton. Silk were conducted by guest conductor Mr Jamie Meredith who has had a long association with Silk. A good evening was had by all and there were many positive comments.............
On Sunday 13th November 2011, Silk Brass once again had the honour of leading the Remembrance Day Procession through the town of Macclesfield. This was followed by hymns at the Cenotaph before the March back to the Town Hall..........................................
Silk Brass would like to announce the return of Jim Cant as their resident Musical Director who has firmly taken the band reigns again. Welcome back Jim!

A cool autumn night in September saw the return of Jim Cant, baton in hand at Silk Brass again. Their programme this season includes some traditional classic marches - Punchinello (William Rimmer) alongside Film themes - Batman The Movie......................................
Ben Bradley, our assistant principal cornet player has not only been playing on the top chair for every other rehearsal (a job he has performed excellently), but he has also been combining that with studying for an accountancy degree - so we asked, how does he do it? Here's Ben's reply.......
Silk Brass are reluctant to say goodbye to two hardworking and influential players - Claire and Alan Gooder. Both players joined the band in the very early days of Silk Brass back in 1997, and have contributed greatly to the success of the band over the years, seeing the band progress through the sections to the Championship..............
On Sunday 13th February, Silk Brass will be moving their evening rehearsal from their bandroom at Marton to the Daneside Theatre, so that they can open the doors to members of the public.............................................
